'Pavazhavalli' - Revival Kai Korvai Adai Kanjivaram with unique pallu

The 'Pavazhavalli' saree is a revival of a 35 year old saree. We have named this saree 'Pavazhavalli' after Pavazhavalli Thayar (Mahalakshmi) of Kanchipuram. Pavazham in Tamil means coral and since this saree is coral coloured, the name is just perfect! The body of the saree has checks in a combination of coral and arakku, the checks are bolder and more prominent as compared to the original saree. The borders are Kai Korvai borders with Adai weaving and have zari motifs of pakshis. While the pallu of the original saree had two bands of zari motifs, in this revival saree, we have introduced a show stopper arakku pallu which has 2 bands of zari motifs of pakshis, 2 bands of diamond shaped motifs and a central row of floral motifs which have peacocks in them; this revival saree comes with a blouse fabric in arakku, unlike the original saree which did not have blouse fabric. Our respected master weaver has used his expertise and dexterity in weaving this majestic Korvai Kanjivaram Silk Saree. We have retained the design aesthetics of the original saree and enhanced it with contemporary design elements. This is a KV Exclusive Limited edition saree
